When opening up a scrapbook, people usually see the beauty of the page by looking at the concert tickets glued in the corner with details they can barely see because it’s glued wrong, or even sometimes a card that just can’t be glued into a book properly. These little trinkets make up our day, we can’t just paste it in a page mindlessly in such a boring way
So I would like to show you my cute little tricks to keep you’re cute trinkets cute and tidy
1.Envelopes
I can recommend cute tiny envelopes with cute patterns or just straight-up plain ones- any that fit your aesthetic. Usually, you can make them on your own, but I find buying envelopes quite convenient. Now, this way you can take out your little trinkets any time you want, and put them back in your book in such a cute way. Many people admire cute patterned ones (ShopeeMY), but many also prefer the minimalistic aesthetic of plain colors (ShopeeMY), and I get it, since it’s practical and I can buy in bulk. Still, the patterned ones will exponentially make the theme of your page look more aesthetic.
2. Pop ups
This may be hard for beginners, so I’ll recommend cute pop-up starters (ShopeeMY) for you guys, but veteran pop-up artists should be familiar with this by now. These things might take a while to learn, but they are so worth it, especially since they are so interactive. For those who aren’t beginners, I’ll recommend my tools and even a YouTube channel that I often go to.
For my pop-up warriors, I’d recommend always having sticky tools like glue stick, glue tape (ShopeeMY), and glue paste. You can essentially use any colored paper you want; just make sure that it’s cardstock paper (ShopeeMY) (here’s a link if you want to buy in bulk (ShopeeMY) ), and finally, cutting tools. Some people just use scissors, but I admit that it does make my life easier if I use a paper cutter (ShopeeMY), a cutting mat (ShopeeMY), a paper trimmer (ShopeeMY). Also, a ruler could actually help more than you think, but if you’re buying the cutting mat, it usually comes with cm measurements
3. Vintage Stickers
Stickers are not necessary, but they do make everything feel more fun.
They are usually affordable and come in packs or books. If you are just starting, I would recommend getting a sticker book (ShopeeMY) that is organized by colour or theme. It makes things a lot easier when you are trying to match the mood of your page. I’ll add a few that are actually well organized because some sets can be a bit messy.
Whenever my page looks a bit empty, I just add a few stickers, and it instantly looks more put-together.
And even though this hobby isn’t that expensive, I did waste money on random sticker packs that I never used. If you want something that looks cohesive, a curated sticker book is a much better choice. I still use mine all the time, so I’ll link the kind I keep going back to.
Besides an actual reusable sticker book, a sticker hack that helped me save space and time is a Japanese sticker book. There are really cute themes like food and electronics, but I recommend the manga-style Japanese sticker book (ShopeeMY). Yes, I know this aesthetic won’t fit with everyone, but this sticker theme specifically helps me a lot.
One of the best reasons to start scrapbooking is that scrapbooking does not need expensive supplies or even artisitic talent to start, cause the most important thing is to have a good ammout of the basic tools to start, just so the start of the scrapbook journey can be enjoyable for you. Don’t worry too much, just have fun and experiment till your heart’s content, cause even if you make an ugly one today, you’ll see that nothing has to be perfect, it just has to be there, so we can see ourselves struggle a little bit. ,
