The main ingredient in scrapbooking is scraps, so it’s no surprise you’ll have them lying around your room every once in a while, and it has gone to a point where it has taken 99% of the table, or even worse, your floors. I’m currently still in university, with the tiniest room that takes 6 steps to get to the other side, and that’s not cause I’m tall, respectfully I’m 4ft 5, and there were days where my table will be filled with scraps I get from a hangout with friends, or pretty patterned paper that I have from previous pages. These 12×12 are small, but for most people like us, we don’t see just scraps, but we also see the beauty and possibility for this tiny thin thing, but what most of us don’t see, is a place to put it. Cause trust me, shoving this in your drawer isn’t a good solution long term, so let me show you how I keep my little paper scraps and how I deal with scrapbook paper storage, especially when it comes to 12×12 paper storage in a small room.
1. Store Full Sheets Vertically
Many prefer to put their paper sheets upright, so they can clearly see what they’re taking instead of digging into 1 pile everytime, also this makes scrapbooking much more comfortable, and helps you see all of your options, cause there are times where I forgot I have some scraps lying around, and just use a new patterned paper. So I’d recommend a vertical desk divider (ShopeeMY). Not only do these things just take a bit of space on the table, but with this you can easily organize your scraps from the colour of hues, to patterns of each paper. 2. Keep Your Paper Flat and Prevent Bent Corners
Sometimes when you keep your paper organizer, there will come times when your paper will curl, sag, or get crushed if the organizer is too loose, too small, or overfilled. 3. Separate Full Sheets From Paper Scraps
I love the accordion file organizer (ShopeeMY), since it helps section everything !!. It sections my patterned paper scraps by colour, pattern, and how frequently I use them, and scrapbooking has never been easier and cleaner. Although the downside is having a hard time to dig into certain colours and patterns like a vertical desk organizer does, by using this, I am assured that my paper will stay straight, and not crumpled from wrong positioning. This also makes scrapbook paper organization much easier, since full sheets and smaller scraps don’t have to be mixed together.
4. Use Small-Space Storage That Actually Fits Your Room
Personally, this would not fit in my room, but to be fair, my room is 6 steps long and I’m pretty short. I’ve seen a lot of people use a rolling craft cart (ShopeeMY) and these things are so tall and can fill up a lot of spaces. Yes, I get the irony for replacing a disorganized drawer, with another drawer with wheels, but in here, it would be mainly for papers and scraps, and it can also work as another option for 12×12 scrapbook paper storage if you don’t have much table space. But if you want to take it up a notch, you can always put desk dividers here. This is also a bonus if you want to put your other scraps here, especially if they’re small, like buttons, or ribbons that you found.
