3 Things to Know Before You Start Scrapbooking

Whether you junk journal, scrapbook, or do a lot of DIY projects, you are guaranteed to end up with a lot of craft supplies or potential scrapbook “trash,” and somehow they just keep piling up no matter how many times you try to clean, and since I am definitely someone who hoards stickers like it’s my job, here are a few things that actually helped me organize everything a bit better without needing more space.

1.Drawer divider

Most of the things I keep for scrapbooking are small, which makes it really easy to just throw everything into a drawer and tell myself I’ll organize it later, but then later never comes and suddenly everything is mixed and impossible to find, so getting drawer dividers honestly makes a huge difference because you can separate your stickers, washi tapes, scissors, markers, and all those random little scraps into their own sections, and it doesn’t actually take up more space, it just makes the space you already have feel a lot less chaotic, which I didn’t think would matter that much until I actually tried it.

2.Peg boards

As I kept journaling, my books started getting thicker and thicker to the point where my drawers would literally get stuck, which was when I realized I needed to stop forcing everything into one place and just use my wall instead, so I got a pegboard and it ended up being one of the most useful things I have, because you can hang almost everything on it like your journals, scissors, markers, pens, washi tapes, and even small baskets for loose items, and the best part is that it doesn’t take up any floor or drawer space, so if your room is small, this actually helps a lot, and you can decorate it however you want so it doesn’t just look like storage, it actually looks like part of your room.

3. Stickerbook

If you’re someone who collects a lot of stickers, especially from events or random places, you’ll know how easy it is to just stack them somewhere and then completely forget they exist, which is exactly what I used to do, so getting a sticker book helped way more than I expected because now everything is in one place and I can just flip through it instead of digging through piles, and it also makes you actually want to use your stickers instead of just saving them forever and never touching them.

One of the best reasons to start scrapbooking is that scrapbooking does not need expensive supplies or even artistic talent to start, cause the most important thing is to have a good ammout of the basic tools to start, just so the start of the scrapbook journey can be enjoyable for you. Don’t worry too much, just have fun and experiment till your heart’s content, cause even if you make an ugly one today, you’ll see that nothing has to be perfect, it just has to be there, so we can see ourselves struggle a little bit. ,

4.Craft toolbox

It’s quite big and takes up space, and most likely can’t fit into a drawer, but it’s best to put all your little stash in one clean, organized box rather than everywhere in your room. These boxes can be filled with your cutout potentials, tools, stickers, and washi tape.

5.Layer Trolley Cart

If you don’t have a lot of drawers but still need space, a layered trolley cart actually helps a lot because it has multiple levels and wheels, so you can move it around easily and store way more things than you think, especially bulkier items like paper, tools, and journals, and even though it does take up some space, it gives you so much more storage in return, and if the compartments aren’t enough, you can always add small basket dividers to keep everything from turning into another mess.
