I’ll admit. I love ripping paper and just pasting them into my pages, words scrapbookers and junk journalists often say. The bottom line is, us scrapbookers are just people who love ripping things and putting them on pages, just to claim that they are our most prized possessions, and collect these papers like trophies. Even though we love ripping papers, sometimes I can’t even rip them straight, so that’s where scrapbooking tools come into play. I’m gonna recommend things beyond scissors, cause even though scissors are the cutting edge of technology (get it? 😀), us humans have advanced even further than scissors. As humans, our natural instinct is to be better at things we love, and that includes collecting the best tools for scrapbooking.
1.Paper Trimmer
Even with a ruler and scissors, people would often make the mistake of not cutting straight, or the right size, and as an avid junk journalist, I still can’t cut straight. The amount of times things have to keep getting shorter and shorter because they weren’t straight enough just leads to more things to cut, which leads to more small paper to throw away. So the final verdict is to buy one of the best scrapbook cutting tools for straight lines: a paper trimmer (ShopeeMY). These things are great for patterned paper, photos, making straight cuts, and borders, so in short, they never fail to cut a straight line for me.
2. Precision Craft Cutter
The difference between cutting with scissors and cutting with a precision cutter is that the precision cutter is used to cut tiny details that scissors can’t reach properly. You gotta love the work of a precision cutter (ShopeeMY), because it can do wonders when you want to preserve both the doodle and the background. Although you have to remember that, even though preserving the art is important, you have to prioritize not damaging anything, whether it be your table or your hands. That’s why you need a cutting mat (ShopeeMY). Both scissors and precision cutters are great tools for scrapbooking, but these pen-like knives help you carve out a specific shape while preserving other parts of the scrap or background.
3. Corner Rounder
The details of a page are what makes the scrapbooking hobby fun, which isn’t just from colors and doodles, but in every picture too. Most people like to paste their printed picture onto the page, but details like rounded corners make the page look softer and eye-catching. I would hate to admit that I bought my own corner rounder (ShopeeMY), out of jealousy, cause when I first got it, I gave it to a friend and got jealous of their pages. I kept telling myself I didn’t need those aesthetic advantages, but scrapbooking is all about advancing and all about aesthetics, so it was inevitable that I’d eventually buy a corner rounder, and now I would say it’s one of the best tools for scrapbooking.
One of the best reasons to start scrapbooking is that scrapbooking does not need expensive supplies or even artisitic talent to start, cause the most important thing is to have a good ammout of the basic tools to start, just so the start of the scrapbook journey can be enjoyable for you. Don’t worry too much, just have fun and experiment till your heart’s content, cause even if you make an ugly one today, you’ll see that nothing has to be perfect, it just has to be there, so we can see ourselves struggle a little bit. ,
